AI Tools

Translation, explanation, and more

Each document has built-in AI tools accessible from the tabs at the top of the document detail. These tools help you understand documents written in legal language, a foreign language, or complex accounting terms.

Translating a Document

Open the document, then click the Translations tab. Select the target language from the dropdown list and click Translate. The translation appears on the screen within a few seconds. You can copy the translated text or read it directly in the browser.

Translation works best for documents that contain readable text (PDF, Word). Scanned images may produce less accurate results.

Getting a Plain-Language Explanation

Open the document and click the Explanation tab. You will see:

  • Summary — a short description of what the document is about, written in plain language.
  • Key Terms — a glossary of important words or phrases in the document, with simple explanations.

This is especially useful for contracts, legal agreements, or technical documents with unfamiliar terminology.

Credits

AI features consume credits from your monthly allowance. Simple operations (like search) are free; translations and analysis use a small number of credits. You can check your remaining credit balance at any time by going to Settings → Usage.

AI Suggestions After Uploading

After Veluvanto analyses a newly uploaded document, it may propose actions based on what it found. For example, it might suggest adding a specific tag, or setting a reminder for an invoice due date it detected.

Suggestions appear as notifications in the top-right corner of the screen. Each suggestion has two buttons: Confirm — applies the suggested action immediately, and Dismiss — ignores the suggestion without making any changes. You can also review suggestions later in the document's Info tab.
